Sweet & Sour Beans- Colleen -Messiah In Fellowship dinner

10 slices of bacon cut up
4 lg onions ,cut into rings*
1 green pepper, chopped (opt)
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tbls. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp.salt
1/2 cup vinegar
2 (15 oz.) cans butter beans,drained
1 (16 oz. can lima beans, drained
1 (16 oz( can kidney beans, drained
1 (16 oz) can pork & beans,undrained

In a large skillet fry bacon.Remove from skillet. Saut'e onion & green pepper until transparent. Add brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder,salt & vinegar. Mix well. In 5 quart casserole combine all beans,bacon & onion mixture. cover & bake at 350 for 30 min. Uncover &bake 30 minutes more. Good dish for pot luck.
Colleen used red onions,omitted the green pepper,& lima beans.She added 1 (16 oz can of Great Northern beans and 1 (16 oz.)can of frozen French cut green beans. She used a crock pot and cooked on low for 8 hours.
